From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of characters, and a thrilling plot showcasing angels, demons, and dark forces growing in power within the urban setting.
Note: Key plot points for the latest installment of Campaign 4 are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The latest chapter finished on a dramatic pause and presented the first table of characters who will separate from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes Teor (brought to life by Travis), the agile character (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Given an extensive roster, it was evident from the outset that having everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
This explains, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, connecting the characters’ stories before branching into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Explorers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
As described by the DM, the warrior group is for players who prefer a traditionally charged fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might appear out of place, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the party knows exactly where to head next after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing kicked off the narrative’s action—exploited the foes for his own means, invading the secret base, striking the rogue, and swiping all the magical artifacts to auction.
Casimir then paid off his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each character has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the close ally and trusted friend, wants retribution.
- Kattigan has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a nasty place.
- The strong character and The cleric, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to kill the target and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- Yet, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the party access areas they usually can’t.
- Additionally, Teor swore a life debt to Wicander for his deliverance and will now go with him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that govern the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The cleric turned against House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This results in them little choice but to travel to Timmony in search of the traitor.
